Delta Air Lines (DL)
Delta Air Lines traces its history back to a 1920s crop-dusting outfit and has grown into one of the most operationally consistent airlines in the world. Today it runs a coast-to-coast hub network from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Boston, and is consistently ranked at or near the top of US carriers for on-time performance and completion factor. The 2008 merger with Northwest Airlines gave the airline its trans-Pacific backbone and the Detroit and Minneapolis hubs. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam and holds equity stakes or deep joint ventures with Air France-KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Korean Air, LATAM, and Aeromexico, giving it the broadest set of metal-neutral partnerships of any US carrier. The airline employs roughly 100,000 people and operates a mainline fleet of around 990 aircraft.
