Who we are
CompareFlights.net is an independent flight-comparison service. Editorial inquiries can be sent to [email protected].
We are the data controller for the personal data collected via this website. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at: [email protected]
What data we collect
When you use CompareFlights.net, we may collect the following categories of data:
- Usage data — pages visited, search queries entered (e.g. routes, destinations, dates), time spent on pages, referring URLs, and browser/device information.
- IP address — your internet protocol address, used to infer approximate location (country/region level) for analytics purposes.
- Cookies and tracking identifiers — session identifiers, analytics cookies, and affiliate tracking parameters. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
We do not collect or store payment information. CompareFlights.net is a price comparison service. All flight bookings are completed on third-party partner websites (such as airlines and online travel agents) and we have no visibility of, or responsibility for, payment data entered on those sites.
How we use your data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Service improvement — to understand how visitors use the site, identify popular routes and features, and fix issues.
- Traffic analysis — to measure and report on website performance, including via Google Analytics.
- Personalisation — to remember your preferences (e.g. preferred currency) and provide relevant content where possible.
- Affiliate tracking — to correctly attribute referrals to partner booking sites so we can earn commissions. This is part of our business model and does not affect the prices shown.
Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interests for analytics and service improvement, and consent (via cookie acceptance) for non-essential cookies and tracking.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on this website. These fall into the following categories:
- Session cookies — essential for the website to function. These expire when you close your browser.
- Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics (cookies:
_ga, _gid) to measure traffic and behavior on the site. Google Analytics data is anonymized and processed by Google LLC.
- Affiliate tracking cookies — when you click through to a partner booking site, tracking cookies are set by our affiliate partners (Travelpayouts, Viator, Impact.com) to record the referral. These typically persist for 7–90 days.
- Preference cookies — to store your currency or other UI preferences across visits.
For a full breakdown of cookies used, including names, providers, and durations, please read our Cookie Policy.
